A burial ground, often marked by rows of headstones visible from the road, sometimes attached to a church.
How Rare Is It on Road Trip Bingo?
Rare. You need to be going slow enough, or close enough to town, to notice one from a fast-moving highway.
Spotting Tip
Small towns and the roads just outside them are more likely to have a visible cemetery than a fast-moving interstate.
Fun Fact
Many 19th-century American cemeteries were deliberately designed like public parks, with winding paths and landscaping, because they doubled as some of the only green public spaces available in early towns.
