Common
Cell Tower
What It Is
A tall metal lattice or monopole structure carrying cellular network antennas.
How Rare Is It on Road Trip Bingo?
Common. Modern cell coverage means these are spaced fairly regularly along most routes.
Spotting Tip
Look for antenna arrays mounted partway up otherwise plain metal towers, often disguised as flagpoles, trees, or water towers in some areas.
Fun Fact
Some cell towers are deliberately camouflaged as pine trees (nicknamed "monopines") in scenic areas to comply with local zoning rules about visual impact.
